We’re honored to celebrate and recognize Marta Chaney for our coach spotlight series! Marta has been with our council for around 10 years, and she’s been a remarkable, driving force in supporting our community. She’s a School Social Worker, and we truly appreciate her time and commitment to serving students and her school community. Her dedicated support in ensuring girls are joyful, happy, and confident will last a lifetime. Read her spotlight answers below!

1. What drew you to the program?

I wanted to assist young girls with improving their physical and emotional health. I thought that GOTR was a fun, positive way to reach a large number of girls.

2.  Why do you think it's important for girls today to have access to this program?

This program helps girls to improve self-esteem, have improved relationships, improved health, and improved social skills. The program is unique in its ability to provide all of these things in a fun way.

3. What is a fun memory you'd love to share?

Many years ago, we started getting more girls with behavioral challenges from our special education program. The results were heart-warming. Seeing these girls proud of their accomplishments, seeing their parents' pride, and seeing the other girls in the program being helpful and compassionate was wonderful.

Thank you so much to Marta for your service and for making a positive impact on the lives of many!
