Board Mrember Spotlight Caitlin Regan

Meet Caitlin Regan, Girls on the Run Greater Chesapeake's New Board Member.

We are thrilled to introduce Caitlin Regan, new GOTRGC Board Member! We asked Caitlin a series of questions about her involvement and thoughts about Girls on The Run. Here's what she had to say:

1) How have you been involved with Girls on the Run?
I have coached the team at Francis Scott Key Elementary/Middle School for the past 3 years!

2) What drew you to the program to get involved now?
The impact the program has on the girls development, how much the girls look forward to practice and the positive energy the program gives to everyone involved.

3) Why do you think it's so important for girls today to have access to this program?
I think about myself as a 5th grader, and how I was trying it was to figure out who I was at that time. The GOTR program is wonderful to navigate becoming a teenager and how to deal with all the trials you will be faced with, such as changing friend groups and being a good friend, making good choices, being grateful for yourself and being comfortable in your own skin. I love the program teaches these girls that you can be athletic in your own way.
4) What is the impact of the program you've seen on the participants?
The girls on my team love the program! They run to the meeting spot every day. One of my favorite observations as the season continues are all the new friendships, some girls that aren't friends at the beginning are running buddies at the end!
5) What are some of your hobbies or interests?
My career is a realtor with Cummings and Co Realtors. I am also the VP of the Locust Point Civic Association, where I chair our annual festival. When I'm not working I love being active, my favorite activities are skiing and yoga. I also have a dog Roxy and we spend a lot of time together socializing at the local dog park!
