Intern Spotlight: Julia Bowling

Introducing Julia Bowling: GOTRGC Marketing & Program Intern!

We are thrilled to introduce Julia Bowling, the newest member of our team! We asked Julia a series of questions about her involvement and thoughts about Girls on The Run. Here's what she had to say:

  1. How have you been involved with Girls on the Run?
  2. What drew you to the program, and why did you decide to get involved now?
  3. Why do you think it's important for girls to have access to this program in current times?
  4. Finally, what are some of your hobbies and interests?

Read on to discover Julia's inspiring responses!

Hi! My name is Julia Bowling. I am 21 years old, and I am currently a senior at Towson University. I have recently been introduced to Girls on the Run of the Greater Chesapeake by becoming a marketing & programming intern. I attended the 2023 Fall 5K, and I was able to see the amazing organization GOTRGC is! The 5K was inspiring to witness!

The purpose behind Girls on the Run is awesome. I have even had a few family members mention their involvement when they were young. I have always been very active growing up and involved in sports teams. A great non-profit that involved an active lifestyle was an organization I knew I wanted to be a part of!

A program that offers support especially for girls is essential. It allows for an outlet for girls to boost their confidence while being active. Two things that are great for anyone's mental health!

A few hobbies of mine include working out, staying active, reading and crocheting!
