The course for a 5K is 3.1 miles.

As a reminder, this is a fun, celebratory event for our participants and not a competitive race. While our fastest 5K participants will complete the course in 25 minutes, most cross the finish line in 30-50 minutes. We will be sweeping the course at one hour from the starting time to ensure all runners have returned to the starting area. Everyone who participates is encouraged to walk, roll, push, run or skip at their happy pace!

If your daughter is participating in the SPRING 2024 program, her registration was included in program registration and she does not need to register for the GOTRGC 5K.

Yes! This is encouraged! This is a great way to accomplish a goal together.

All 5K Buddies and community participants will need to register for the 5K. Please register in the early bird registration for guaranteed t-shirt sizing (3/8 - 3/20). Standard registration is open through April 24, 2024.

Yes! Family, friends and community members outside of our program can participate in the event, but must register. Please register in the early bird registration for guaranteed t-shirt sizing (3/8/24 - 3/20/24). Standard registration is open through 4/24/24.

Yes. Girls on the Run 5K events are for everyone! All participants can walk, run, push or roll safely and at their own happy pace. Designated parking spots are available.

We expect approximately 2,000 runners on race day. Please give yourself plenty of time to allow for parking at the Maryland Zoo and to walk to the Celebration village at Mansion House Field at Druid Hill Park in Baltimore. ARRIVE EARLY to avoid pre-race parking traffic. GOTRGC girls should plan to meet their team by 7:45 - 8:00 a.m. in their team color zone. This gives them time to warm up and enjoy pre-race activities in our celebration village.

On 5K day we will utilize parking lots B and C at the Maryland Zoo, near the entrance to the main gate, and along Beechwood Drive past the entrance to the Zoo (please observe parking signs).

Guests are asked NOT TO PARK in any other area, unless directed. WE ASK PARTICIPANTS TO USE BOTH EXIT 7 and EXIT 9 OFF OF I-83 TO SPREAD THE TRAFFIC. Participants may enter the parking area from TWO ENTRANCES: 1) Gwynn Falls Pkwy. off of Druid Park Lake Dr. 2) Greenspring Ave. at Beechwood Dr. THERE WILL BE TRAFFIC ON 5K MORNING. PLEASE BE PATIENT AND ARRIVE EARLY. GIVE YOURSELF PLENTY OF TIME TO PARK AND WALK TO MANSION HOUSE LAWN. PLAN TO LEAVE 30 MINUTES BEFORE YOU WERE THINKING ABOUT LEAVING.

Your girl will meet her team based on the color wave she is in on the Celebration Village field (Mansion House Lawn Field at Druid Hill Park). Color waves will be shared with coaches and teams prior to the 5K.

Absolutely! Every registered 5K buddy and community participant gets a GOTR race bib and those who signed up during the early bird registration are guaranteed t-shirt sizing for their GOTRGC 5K shirt.

For safety reasons, every participant must wear a 5K bib (provided by the council). Our council ensures every participant has a 5K buddy, and only critical 5K volunteers have access to confidential information.

To ensure every participant crosses the finish line, we continually monitor the courses. Our council has a safety plan in place, which trains staff and volunteers on how to respond during an emergency or incident.

For safety, all furry friends are NOT ALLOWED on the field, on the course or at the event, so please leave all pets at home on 5K day. All pets will be asked to return to the pet owner's vehicle if spotted at the event.

Yes! As this is the highlight of the season, there will be pre-5K fun activities including happy happy hair stations, bling your bib, and more! Of course, we’ll have merchandise for sale, too!

For non-program participants, we will have early bird, standard and late regitration. Early bird regitration (with guaranteed shirt sizing) is $30 from March 8 - March 20, standard registration is $35 through April 24, and late regitsration is $45 during packet pick-up in our Annapolis office on April 25th.

Yes. All 5K registration forms include liability waivers.

Yes! Our Council is selling merchandise to support our program! Be sure to look for our merchandise booth/tent to commemorate this memorable event.
