SoleMate Spotlight: Meet Sarah our Sweat Crawl SoleMate

We are excited to highlight Sarah Foo, a GOTRGC Sweat Crawl SoleMate who has helped raise vital funds to support program access for Girls on the Run of the Greater Chesapeake. Discover more about Sarah and learn what inspired her to become a SoleMate in her spotlight. For Sarah’s spotlight, we asked her a series of Q&A-style questions, and these are her responses.

How did you first hear about Girls on the Run of the Greater Chesapeake, and what made you want to support?

I've known about Girls on the Run for a while, but didn't know how to best get involved, so seeing the SoleMate opportunity just felt like a sign!

How long have you been doing Sweat Crawls, and why did you become a Sweat Crawl SoleMate for Girls on the Run Greater Chesapeake?

I had actually only done one Sweatcrawl (in 2024) before signing up to be a SoleMate, but I've been running since I was in middle school so it felt like a fun way to give back to the running community.

What would you tell your 10-year-old self about working toward a big goal?

It's okay to make a goal and fail, as long as you put in the work and try!

What advice do you have for participants in our program as they are working towards a big goal?

Remember to have fun working towards the goal.  Sometimes the journey towards the goal is the best part :)

What's your Superpower?

I'm very persistent, some may even say stubborn, but I never give up!

What are some of your hobbies or interests?

My husband and I both love to cook.  I collect cookbooks from around the world, and love to make and try new things! I also love traveling, birds and embroidery.
